Body Wash with Active Ingredients Are they actually good for you?

5 Minute Read

Up until recently, large-scale manufacturers of personal care products have touted that chemical-based active ingredients are best for an optimal skincare routine. I couldn’t disagree more. While chemical-based soaps and cleansers might be better at removing makeup and unclogging your pores, they are often so good at their jobs that they strip your skin of its healthy sebaceous oils too!
In this article, I’ll be walking you through exactly what is meant by the phrase “active ingredients” and what ingredients are best for your skincare routine.

What are “Active Ingredients”
Active ingredients are any ingredients included in a skincare product – such as soap, body butter, lotion, and shampoo – that are meant to work on a specific problem. If, for instance, you buy a body wash that claims to soften your skin, you might find that the active ingredients include hyaluronic acid and peptides.

The problem is that many of these “active ingredients” are considered by the FDA as drugs. Yes, you read that right. So, if these ingredients are classified as potentially harmful in large amounts, why would we consider putting them on (or in) our bodies for the sake of chasing some impossible beauty standard? Surely there must be a better way to achieve healthy, glowing skin without all of the unnecessary chemicals that we are exposed to through active ingredients.
There is an answer! The answer to this problem is all-natural, organic skincare products, such as all-natural soaps.

Active Ingredients vs. Natural Ingredients
Organic skincare products, such as all-natural soaps, are the best remedy for just about any skincare problem. The organic ingredients in my range of soaps, for example, have been used by queens, pharaohs, and empresses as far back as 3,000 BC. While I’m not disputing that modern-day products have brought us many advancements in the beauty and personal care industry, these products have also led to rampant health issues and deterioration of our bodies’ natural restorative processes. Simply put, the beauty industry is great at creating customers, but not so much at ensuring the health and safety of all their customers is a priority.
This is one of the major reasons why I spent so much time studying the best organic ingredients for my products. But don’t just take my word for it. Have a look at just a few of the amazing benefits of my all-natural soaps and you’ll soon see why organic ingredients are always superior.

The Benefits of All-Natural Soaps

1. They Contain Forgiving Ingredients
All-natural soaps don’t contain any of the harmful active ingredients that can dry your skin and lead to chronic skin conditions. Instead, all-natural soaps contain organic ingredients that are bound to leave you glowing with the smoothest and most supple skin. These are ingredients such as:
  • Essential oils
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Micah powder
  • And more!

2. They’re Better for You & Mother Earth
Organic and artisanal skincare products are often vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. In other words, these products are not tested on innocent creatures in some lab in a bid to make more sales and roll products out to unsuspecting buyers. If you ask me, if you have to test how harsh a chemical is before applying it to a person’s skin, it shouldn’t be included in the ingredients list in the first place! My soaps contain biodegradable, all-natural ingredients that are safe for you and the planet.

3. You Get Fragrant, Sudsy Goodness
Sulfates are the most drying agents on the FDA’s list of “active ingredients”. Not only do they dry your skin, but they also strip your skin of the vitamins and minerals that are needed to rebuild your hydrated layer. Instead of using harmful sulfates in my soaps, I use natural ingredients like Shea Butter and other oils that have a natural foaminess to them. This ensures that you get all the sudsy goodness to lather yourself in without any of the harmful ingredients.

Combining All-Natural Soaps with Organic Body Butter
If you want to take your organic skincare routine to the next level, say goodbye to body wash and body creams with active ingredients. Instead, you can use my all-natural soaps paired with one of my body butters for optimal softness and elevated skin health. Take my herbal-infused Tropical Orange Shea Butter All-Natural Moisturizing Body Butter as an example. It is the best soap for Eczema and Dry Skin. It contains nothing but pure goodness, including Shea butter, Almond oil, sweet orange essential oil, arrowroot powder, and vitamin E.

Natural ingredients are just as good at removing makeup and unclogging pores. So why go with the barely lathering body wash full of chemicals? Absolutely not, all natural for sure.

I was actually considering getting that spearmint soap for my father. He loves Peppermint natural soap, so this will be a great gift for him, thanks!
